Graduate Studies in Interpreting and Translation


The University of Maryland’s Graduate Studies in Interpreting and Translation (GSIT) is now accepting applications for fall 2014.

Select from these exceptional professional learning opportunities:

Interpreting
    • Conference Interpreting; or Public Service Interpreting

Translation
    • Translation; or Translation and Localization Project Management

The Graduate Studies in Interpreting and Translation (GSIT) offers regular instruction in high demand languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. Other languages can also be accommodated.

Degree programs in Graduate Studies in Interpreting and Translation (GSIT) are designed to be completed in 12 (GCPS) to 24 (MPS) months of full-time commitment. Full-time and part-time enrollment is invited. Instruction is provided by Department of Communication faculty and experts in the field and is delivered in a face-to-face learning environment at the University of Maryland.

Information Sessions for Potential Applicants

Graduate Studies in Interpreting and Translation will be holding information sessions to address questions about the application procedure, admissions tests, curriculum, and degree track options on the following dates:

  • October 22: 4:30-5:30 pm Eastern Daylight Time (on campus)
  • October 29: 10:00-11:00 am Eastern Daylight Time (online)
  • November 12: 4:30-5:30 pm Eastern Daylight Time (on campus)
  • December 3: 10:00-11:00 am Eastern Daylight Time (online)

The deadline for international applicants, including green card holders, is February 1, 2014. The deadline for U.S. applicants is May 1, 2014.
