URI Peer Ambassador Program Currently Accepting Applications!

Are you interested in meeting and making friends with students from around the world? The URI Office of International Education & National Student Exchange is currently accepting applications for its Peer Ambassador Program – a one-of-a-kind cross-cultural experience!

Every semester, URI welcomes students to its campus from around the world. Our Peer Ambassadors have the unique opportunity of greeting these students during their first few days of arrival, helping them get acclimated to the campus, serving as a friendly contact to help smooth the transition into their new university environment, and attending specialized events and activities with them throughout the semester.

What is expected of a Peer Ambassador?

- Introduce yourself to students via e-mail (before they leave their home country) and answer questions they may have about the URI, Rhode Island and the U.S.
-When students arrive on campus, engage with them! Give them a personal tour of campus, help them move in, answer questions they may have about classes and life on campus.
-Attend events throughout the semester. Examples include bowling nights, Thanksgiving celebrations, pumpkin carving, and many more!

This is a volunteer position and an excellent opportunity to get to know the global community at your own university. If you are interested in learning more about the responsibilities of a Peer Ambassador, please view the following link: http://www.uri.edu/international/returning1.html

If you are interested in becoming a Peer Ambassador, please fill out the application below by 11:59 PM on July 20th.

Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to seeing a new group of Peer Ambassadors in the upcoming academic year!

Kind regards,
