The Writers' Square scholarship program is a division of Hakka Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focusing on education and cultural services. As Hakka Foundation’s scholarship program, Writers' Square encourages and inspires students to lead a meaningful life by:

1) Exploring their ideas and interests about culture, identity, and social issues.
2) Developing their writing skills, self-expression, confidence, and personal potential.
3) Communicate clearly, compellingly, and maturely with their families, teachers, and peers.
4) Promoting a creative atmosphere in their daily lives and school campuses.

Please encourage your students to participate in the Writers’ Square Chinese and English writing contests scholarship program. The Writers’ Square holds multiple scholarship contests every year for enrolled students from 1st grade through graduate school. There are two contests (English language and Chinese language), with three sessions per year for each language.
