URI Chinese Studies Scholarships - Call for Applications - Due March 1


Applications are now being accepted for URI Chinese Studies Scholarships and are due by March 1, 2013 at 4:00 PM EST.  
These scholarships are given out each year and are based either on academic merit, financial need or both. Financial need is determined by the University and requires the submission of a completed FAFSA form annually.  URI Chinese Studies Scholarships include the following (only one letter of application necessary to be considered for all awards, if eligible):
  • Hasbro Scholarship: for study and internships in China (Chinese IEP and IBP students only)
  • URI Confucius Institute Chinese Studies Scholarship: for study and internships in China
  • Flagship Scholarship: for summer study or the Capstone Year in China (Flagship students only)

To be considered for any of the above scholarships, please send an email to flagship@etal.uri.edu by March 1, 2013 at 4:00 PM with “Chinese Studies Scholarship Application” in the subject line, and include or attach the following information:
    • your full name and address
    • your current year at URI (freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior)
    • your major(s) and any minors you are pursuing
    • your current GPA (check your records in e-Campus for this)
    • a formal letter of application telling us about yourself and explaining how a scholarship will benefit you personally
    • a current resume
