Volunteers Needed for 2/23 Chinese New Year Celebration

The URI Confucius Institute is looking for a minimum of five (5) volunteers to help out with the Chinese New Year interactive exhibit on Saturday, February 23, 2013.

Specifically volunteers would need to:

  • Meet with Li Laoshi in the Confucius Conference Room (URI Library) sometime next week to learn some simple tricks of calligraphy, paper-cutting, lantern making, dumpling making, and some games, such as five-in-a-row.
  • On February 23, meet at URI at 12:00 pm (noon) to set up the exhibition.  Volunteers would perform one of a number of activities: Host a game or craft table; work with Wu Yue Laoshi on English riddles; sell dollar raffle tickets; and take care of the donation box for the dinner.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Li Laoshi, Associate Director of the Confucius Institute at li_shumin@mail.uri.edu.
